Back from spending the past 12+ hours at Valley View for the Iron Man 3 marathon. Boy, I was so happy that I went for the marathon. I didn’t get to see Iron Man 1 or Iron Man 2 in theaters when they first came out. I got to see the Avengers for the 7th time today. 7th was as great as the 2nd time around. Still loved every minute of it. Best part about the marathon - there were at most, 40 of us in the entire 3D XD theater. And they didn’t fill it up with the 9:20 crowd for Iron Man 3.
I’m still sadden by the thought that there may be no more RDJ in Marvel, but I can part with it. Iron Man 3 was a great movie. I won’t say more. And yes, a certain “doctor” was awesome. I loved the Rhodey/Tony ness though. I wish we could of seen more of Rescue too.
The next Marvel movies I will be excited for is Captain America 2, The Avengers 2 and Ant-Man.
And seriously, are you that stupid to leave after the credits of a Marvel movie? Two left in our theater…
Guys, tomorrow I’m auditioning for a Marvel movie to be an extra! Is anyone else in Cleveland doing such?
Last night, I had a dream where Steve was in the 1940s. But this 1940s was set in a black and white world. He was sitting at a cafe, while a woman (Meg from the Paper Man Disney short), came over to talk to him about his art. That was it. That was my dream.
In the latest issue of Empire Magazine, Marvel Studios honcho Kevin Feige revealed a bit of information about what we can expect from Iron Man 3 next year. I’m not too disappointed to hearThe Avengers will not appear in the film (I thought Black Widow was
coming back?) because I love the idea of Tony Stark having to deal with the after-effects of the Chitauri invasion all on his own. I’m counting on this being the best solo-Marvel film since the first Iron Man …
On where the movie picks up: “This is all about how he was affected by the events of The Avengers, and how his world and mindset can be affected by that. By the end of Avengers, when a portal is opened up in Manhattan and he’s met Thor and The Hulk and the Chitauri are coming down on him, he realises that he doesn’t know everything; we think that has had an effect on his psyche, and then his world is blown out from underneath him.”
On potential appearances by The Avengers: “Iron Man 3 doesn’t feature any of the other Avengers, or Nick Fury showing up, or any of those world-blending conceits that the Phase One films had. You have to keep in mind that Iron Man 3 had been in the works for almost a year, year and a half before The Avengers was released. We’re sticking to the vision for these films, and showing once again that these characters are just as interesting alone as they are together.”
On why Rhodey is wearing the Iron Patriot suit: “The notion in the movie is that a red, white and blue suit is a bold statement, and it’s meant to be. With Rhodey, he’s very much the foil to Tony’s eccentricities, and in this one you get to see this and be reminded of the trust and friendship between them in that great Shane Black buddy-cop fashion.”
